 Alliance of AABC: Creative Advocacy Project (CAT)

Alliance of Asian American Baptist Churches is excited to announce our latest project where we want to empower Burma diaspora young people uplift and share their culture, faith and/or experiences. This project young people will create and share content about their unique experiences to give a glimpse to the broader community about the life of young people in these communities. 

  • Ideas (but not limited to): A series of stories/reels/tik toks about daily life in your family, your church, etc; article on your journey; the story/interview or a inspiring friend/family member; dance; photo gallery or series; documenting the experiences/stories of refugees positive/difficult; joys/frustrations as a 1.5 as a 2nd gen; trends that might be interesting giving a glimpse to your community (eg. “we listen and we don’t judge…”), let your creativity loose!

Project: Voices of Hope

What: Teams creative content to make a difference about experiences in your migrant community

  1. Immigration & Immigrant life

  2. Justice & Public Square: How do you stand up for justice?

  3. Creation Care: How & why we care for the planet

  4. Health and Wellness: mental health tips, anti-stress in action (gardening, etc)

 

How: 

  • Identify a story to share through

  • Submit a proposal for approval

  • Gather a team to produce: 2-5 min video/ Series of stories/Reel/ Interactive content/ Article…Etc.

 

When: 

  • First round deadline for proposals due: Mar 15, 2025 .

  • First round projects completed by April 15, 2025

  • Rolling-submissions & Open to receive proposals: now through round proposal deadline July 2025

  • All projects completed by August 2025

  • Sept 2025: CAT Online Celebration Event
